    Anyone is welcome to come on two or three walks before joining the group officially but after this they must become a member to continue walking with us.  For information on joining have a look at the how to join page.

  • Always plan to be at start point for walk at least 15 minutes before the listed start time and car share wherever possible

  • Contact the walk leader if you would like to know more about their walk

  • Walk Leaders - ALL walks information on the website is maintained by the Programme Secretary who should be contacted for any updates or changes to walk details

Joint 20's 30's Chilterns group walk
Wallingford and William the Conquers Castle , 9 miles

Route This walk allows you to discover ancient treasures of a famous town on the Thames before following a pretty stretch of riverbank, then onto Cholsey, back along the Thames Path to Wallingford.

Royal Scandal at Cumnor Place , 6.5 miles

Route Field paths, quiet lanes and tracks from Cumnor to Appleton, passing the River Thames. Afternoon walk followed by an early evening Sunday roast at The Bear and Ragged Staff, Cumnor. If you would like to join us for a meal, please book a place with the leader by 11th March, and do check the pub website for food choices, as I would like to pre-order.

Saturday Walk Joint Shropshire Young Ramblers group walk
The Delights of Burford , 12 miles

Route We will welcome the Shropshire Young Ramblers group for this enjoyable walk that will explore some of our area's finest landscapes. The route will take us through several pretty Cotswold villages and enjoy some varied undulating scenery. There will be a joint social with our Shropshire visitors in Oxford in the evening.

Joint Chilterns 20s & 30s group walk
Thames Valley Views: Hambleden & Henley on Thames , 7 miles

Route Easy-going riverside walk taking in the picturesque village of Hambleden and stunning views of Henley and the Thames valley. NB The riverside path may be a bit soggy in places so please wear sensible footwear! Dogs on leads are welcome.

Church Enstone , 10.5 miles

Meeting Point and Parking Enstone Village, on the Little Tew Road, please park considerately.

Route This moderate walk goes through fields, to arrive in Heythrop Park, and through Folly Farm. Then continue onto the Village of Little Tew Great Tew for lunch on the Green. Then we will return to Church Enstone via fields and tracks, passing through the villages of Gagingwell and Cleveley. Pub stop at the end.

The Astons Amble with Rousham House , 9 miles

Meeting Point and Parking Lower Heyford outside the Bell Inn pub. Please do not use the pub car park, and park considerately in the village. Trains are available please check National Rail website.

Route To Upper Heyford and past the former American Airbase to Somerton, on to Middle Aston and Steeple Aston then down to a great view of Rousham House, built 1635. Some hilly bits and exposed walking, and fields (=high mud potential!). Pub stop at end.

Turville and the Surrounding Area , 11 miles

Meeting Point and Parking Village of Turville,meet in the parking area adjacent to the church. Space is limited so please park considerately in the village and consider car-sharing. Car sharing from Redbridge Park&Ride will be arranged closer to the date. Please check the Message Board a couple of weeks before the walk for details.

Route This is a varied walk where we will enjoy some steep climbs with great views as a reward, some woodland and several pretty villages. Pub at the end.

Route A Gentle walk towards Standlake, taking in Gravel Pits and the River Windrush along the way, towards Newbridge. Possible pub stop depending on time. Then heading back to Northmoor via the Thames Path.

Route This is a gentle evening stroll from the village of Yarnton, through Worton and then onto Oxey Mead, short walk by the river and then return to Yarnton through fields. If lucky you may even see some Deer. Pub at End.

Route Taking advantage of the Ramblers Association Get Walking Day, this will be a pleasant introductory stroll through some of Oxford's finest parkland and meadows. Pub stop en route for drinks and option to have a few drinks in Oxford after the walk. All current members are welcome to this walk to encourage new members to join.

Route Starting out from Sutton Courtney then wandering up to Abingdon. Lunch in Albert Park after walking through some of the more historic parts of Abingdon followed by a pub stop. A short walk back along the Thames Path. The walk is flat and easy going.

Saturday Walk Watlington Hill and Shirburn Hill including a 75th Anniversary Lunch with Oxfordshire Area Ramblers , 8.5 miles

Meeting Point and Parking Watlington Hill Car Park. Drive up the hill from the centre of Watlington. Car Park about 1 mile from Watlington, just before getting to Christmas Common. No public transport available, please contact walk leader if you need to arrange a lift.

Route We will walk from Watlington Hill to Shirburn Hill and back. There will be some fairly steep climbs with nice views from the top.
